Imagine you have no money and you need to travel at one end of city to another, Imagine you miss managed your money or you literally forgot to take your wallet to college/office. You realized that day turns out to be important,
you see around and feel helplessness, you feel desperate at the same time too, such that you don’t miss the occasion. You start getting mumbled, dejected and start cursing yourself to the core for being careless. So in that time of crises, don’t let yourself down, don’t get brawled by the situation. Instead look around and guess what you see is “THE WORLD” 

The world is there to help you; you might have heard from people saying, “Nothing comes free of cost in this world”. I believe it’s all boils down how do you approach the world in such a situation so that you get necessary attention and get yourself helped. For that you need to ADAPT the situation: IMPROVISE and need to OVERCOME it. You need to formulate your strategy and keep one or two tactics so that you work around it and reach your goals.
For that the intentions/approach should be clean and benevolent. For instance, keeping in mind the above situation the strategy could be as follow:
Step1: Move to the curved/turning path of the road and wait for the vehicles to come or move to a traffic signal where the vehicles are at stand still.
Logic for Step 1: At the curved/turning path of the road, the vehicle would be really slow to take the turns, at that very instance you can ask in a little shrill voice for the lift of the nearest touch points of your destination.
In all this process, do it in a graceful and benevolently to the people you are asking for help and show your honest gratitude at the end of it.  They definitely will help you.  Believe me my friends, by such attitude you give rise to new relationship. You feel good about yourself.
The idea is only to tell you is that, “What you give to the world the same thing you get back” As simple as that. You need to develop good interpersonal skills which will give rise to new relationship, new ideas & that could be the reason for your success in any endeavors of life.
The example that I gave seems to be trivial, but believe me in order to execute that requires good soft skills, right spirit and patience, which teaches you a lot in the lines of professional & personal front.  
Having the Right Attitude, Being Good and Genuine to you & to the world is considered as the X factor in today’s world that we are living in. With the Clarity in Mind and Purity of Heart with the right skill sets & knowledge the world will be with you.
